CHOIR NOTES
Well, here we are marching into March!! As March is here, can Spring be far behind? Birds are singing and even some brave flowers are popping their little heads through hard, cold, soil! We can’t help but love the signs of Spring.
As I was thinking about March, a few hymns came to mind. One is “Onward Christian Soldiers”. Do you ever think of yourself as a soldier for Christ? We need to march to His drum!. Another is “We’re Marching to Zion”.We truly are marching through this world one day at a time with Heaven as our goal.
As I read the devotion this morning for Lent, it mentioned how Christ could have gone the other way, and not gone to Gethsemane where He knew they would find Him. He did not run, He marched right into what was going to be a horrific time. Beating, Flogging, Humiliation, and even Death on a cross! He knew this, and yet He marched onward and forward.
He gave us His marching orders when He told us to GO and PREACH the Gospel to every people and nation.
Soldiers go through rough times of Basic Training, they are just not sent to battle without first being prepared. Church and Sunday School teach us how to be faithful followers and soldiers. Many of us are still in Basic Training, but we are preparing for Battle every day. We see Christianity being removed from so many places today. Are we going to “Stand Up for Jesus”?
